Enjoy Japanese art calendars featuring the likes of Yoshitomo Nara, Katsushika Hokusai and Utagawa Hiroshige.
I'm a webdesigner, a Dutch citizen (that's in Europe), a theosophist, into religion and spirituality in general. That is: Christianity, Buddhism, Wicca and Paganism, Taoism, Sufism and Islam, Yoga and Hinduism and whatever else comes to mind.
I love fantasy fiction, like Harry Potter for instance.
Honestly - this is not my main blog. My main blog is All Considering. On here I just collect some of my favorite links - usually from my own stuff on the various places I'm active online.
This post is the easiest way I can find to show off the categories I've created on this blog:
I'm a real fan of calendars and planners. I like them unique and interesting. These cute girly planners for instance... part of me wishes I could buy them all :) When I was still studying in college, I used to go for the more serious academic planners. I don't know why really, there were enough cute date books on the market. But then I learned the charms of organizers and I haven't looked back since. They're a bit more expensive out of the bat, but I just love how practical they are. If I were a mom I'd probably go for one of these family planners for moms and busy dads too. It's a pity though that these religious planners don't exist for the academic year - understandable, but still a pity. I think many students would love to have an inspiring planner.
When it comes to wall calendars I have only two criteria: beauty and dates. And since calendards are always dated (unlike planners for some reason), what you're left with is prettyness. For instance these nature calendars are just a great way to make a kitchen come alive. But as a spiritual person I guess I'll usually end up with a spiritual calendar of some sort. For instance this year I have a mandala calendar. Fascinatingly it has Tibetan Buddhist celebrations on there - and it's not really clear what they are all about. Of course others may prefer a Christian calendar or a pagan one.
There are two kinds of spiritual calendar that really have a place in their own right: Perpetual calendars with Spiritual quotes and astrological calendars and guide books. The first because they're not supposed to help you keep organized. They're just supposed to inspire - and can do that perpetually like desk calendars. The second because they're meant to be far more personal - helping you keep track of the astrological challenges that the year brings, for your starsign.
Motivational calendars and date books. With inspirational quotes from people like Louise Hay or the Bible.
Beautiful and practical Buddhist calendars and date books. With quotes from for instance Thich Nhat Hanh, the Dalai Lama, Shunryu Suzuki and Pema Chodron.
Beautiful and informational guidebooks to the coming year. Whether you want a book for the whole family, or just your personal starsign - this is the place to find them ;)
